VIDEO DEBUT! – Artists For The Arts

I am so excited to announce that we have released our single and music video for the Beatles classic ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ to benefit Americans For The Arts in their fight to save the National Endowment for the Arts. As Executive Producer of Artists For The Arts, I am honored to share this beautiful project with all of you. All proceeds from the sing available on and elsewhere will benefit the non-profit and its arts advocacy and educational endeavors to #SavetheNEA

It was January 19, 2017, and news had just broken that the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and Humanities (NEH) could soon be at risk of elimination. As an opera singer and creative entrepreneur, I knew how crucial arts funding was for society at large. The arts enrich the human experience by sparking creativity, collaboration and powerful returns on investment in education and economic growth. I turned to and created a petition ( I’m not sure what I hoped would come of it, but I knew that this was an issue near and dear to my heart, and perhaps, if enough everyday Americans realized what was at stake, the community could have a fighting chance.

A ‘Who’s Who’ of Broadway, Hollywood, theatre, dance, and music artists came together at the legendary Avatar Studios in New York City to record and film a single of the iconic Beatles song “A Little Help From My Friends” to inspire support for the arts in America. 100% of net profits from this recording will go towards Americans for the Arts and their work to protect the NEA, support arts education and advocacy, and continue to fight for our beautiful industry and all that it does to foster community, creativity and economic growth.

Here are just some of the artists involved:

Broadway: Nick Adams (Chicago, A Chorus Line), Aaron Lazar (The Last Ship, The Light In the Piazza), Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Liz Callaway (Cats, Miss Saigon, Hair), Bryan Terrell Clark (Hamilton), Carmen Cusack (Bright Star, Les Miserables in West End), Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins, Beauty & the Beast), Julie Benko (Fiddler on the Roof), Lillias White (Fela!, The Life), Lexi Lawson (Hamilton, Rent), Liz Callaway (Cats, Miss Saigon, Baby), Telly Leung (In Transit, Allegiance, Glee), Ryan Silverman (Side Show, Chicago)

Television: Annie Golden (Orange Is The New Black), Forte Tenors (America’s Got Talent), Chris Mann (The Voice, Phantom of the Opera)

#SavetheNEA Petition and Video project!

In January it was announced that the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) could loose all funding. The NEA has been the life-blood and foundation of the arts community across our nation since 1965. They provide grants for dance, music, drama, literature, outreach education, and so much more.

With the petition surpassing 35,000 signatures, it became clear that more could be done to spread the message. So began our project of one ANTHEM to support arts in America and #SavetheNEA and an invitation to the US Senate!

Watch the video below to learn more and HOW YOU CAN HELP us reach our FUNDING goal! It will involve artist from all artistic disciplines and YOUR video submissions from across the country.

‘Tis The Season! Holiday Single And More!

Seasons greetings to you all and I hope this message finds you happy, healthy and calm amidst the hustle and bustle of the season. As my first Christmas away from Canada and my family, it is somewhat surreal to hear tunes like ‘White Christmas’ in the heat of the Australian summer, but I am starting to adjust. Without a doubt, I do miss the crispness of a sunny Canadian winter morning.

It has been a busy month Down-Under with repeat performances of our production show ‘ENCORE’ and grateful for standing ovations every night! I also received a last minute request to perform my solo show ‘These Miles’ on board, featuring songs from my album, classical musical theatre and crossover repertoire with a 7-piece orchestra. It was a treat to perform for such an engaged audience.

New Adventures Down Under!

We are excited to announce that Jonathan Estabrooks will be moving ‘Down Under’ for the coming season. Having lived in New York for almost decade a new adventure was long overdue and he returned from a summer on the family farm to an exciting next chapter.

Just last month, we received an invitation from a lovely friend and fellow singer, Clara Helms to join forces in creating a new production. Having been approached by her manager to create a duet show featuring two classically-trained voices, Clara invited Jonathan to join her in developing this new headlining to be featured onboard 13 different ships as part of a new Princess Cruises ENCORE project.

The Sea Princess is pictured above and will be the home of this production. Jonathan is exciting to begin this new adventure and even more so, the chance to connect with a global audience.
Jonathan will depart November 3rd and will be onboard 1-2 weeks per month and otherwise based in Sydney, Australia. The program of classical Broadway and Opera entitled called ‘Crossover To Love’ will take them throughout the Southern Hemisphere and parts of Europe. This exclusive headliner show will be a staple on the Sea Princess, a ship of 2000 weekly travelers and 1000-seat theatre, including our very own 7-piece orchestra.

Some of the countries on this adventure Fiji, Indonesia, Ireland, England, Portugal, Norway, France, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and Vanuatu.

Interview on Calon FM

In September, Jonathan met with Jannie Rawlinson of Calon FM and the show ‘Classical Sounds 4 U’ out of Wrexham, Wales to discuss his career journey, debut album ‘These Miles’, his radio show on Crossover Radio International and upcoming tour.

He joined Micheal Castaldo for a special New York show. To hear the full interview with music, click the link below.

Jonathan hosts Classical Crossover LIVE on CRI

Jonathan has taken on hosting duties for Classical Crossover LIVE, a weekly radio show on Crossover Radio International, part of the Radionomy network. The two hour show features music of established and indie artists, and in-depth interviews with such names as Chris Mann of ‘The Voice’ fame, Jennifer ThomasMicheal Castaldo, Siobhan Owen, Sons of Serendip and many more. The once weekly live broadcast (Wed, 7-9pm EST) bridges the gap between traditionally classical and pop repertoire, with artists that choose pop, rock, new age and classical idioms in their creative process.

West Coast debut with Rob Kapilow

Screen Shot 2016-03-07 at 2.06.35 PM

I am excited to announce my West Coast debut on March 9th at 7:30pm in at the Cerritos Center for the Performing arts as a feature soloist for Rob Kapilow’s ‘What Makes it Great” Series. Featuring Rob Kapilow, Soprano Amanda Squitieri and myself, it will unearth the hidden musical moments and gems within the music of Lerner and Loewe. I am excited to join the cast and debut for the first time in California.

Rob Kapilow “gets audiences in tune with Classical music at a deeper and more immediate level than many of them thought possible,” hails the Los Angeles Times. In a three-part format, Kapilow dissects a musical composition. The pieces are performed, and a lively Q&A concludes the evening. “You hang on to every word and note,” says The New York Times.
