Screen Shot 2016-03-07 at 2.06.35 PM

I am excited to announce my West Coast debut on March 9th at 7:30pm in at the Cerritos Center for the Performing arts as a feature soloist for Rob Kapilow’s ‘What Makes it Great” Series. Featuring Rob Kapilow, Soprano Amanda Squitieri and myself, it will unearth the hidden musical moments and gems within the music of Lerner and Loewe. I am excited to join the cast and debut for the first time in California.

Rob Kapilow “gets audiences in tune with Classical music at a deeper and more immediate level than many of them thought possible,” hails the Los Angeles Times. In a three-part format, Kapilow dissects a musical composition. The pieces are performed, and a lively Q&A concludes the evening. “You hang on to every word and note,” says The New York Times.

Excerpt:

‘…Flippant and profound in equal measure, with artful delivery from the baritone Jonathan Estabrooks, they proved perfectly matched to Mr. Kahane’s omnivorous musical character…In excerpts from a show in progress by Mr. Steel, Mr. Estabrooks’s uppity way with a mock Princeton “Fight Song of ’49” worked hilariously’. – David Allen, The New York Times.
